4th Annual Chi Omega & Chi Psi BBQ A Success!
On Thursday, November 7th
we held our 4th Annual Chi Omega & Chi Psi BBQ
benefiting the Matthew Gfellar Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center. The event was a huge success, and although we have not finished calculating our final profit, we know it was equally if not more successful than last year's BBQ. Giving Thanks for the Bonds of Sisterhood With summer now deep in the rear-view mirror, it is time to turn our focus to the holidays and all the season will offer. Thanksgiving, by its nature, requests and requires introspection on the good things life has bestowed. Most frequently, those thoughts revolve around the people in each of our lives, friends and family. As Jane Howard said, “Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” Tar Heels Basketball The pre-season rankings are out and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels are, once again, well-placed within those rankings. The team is strong this year, under the leadership of Coach Roy Williams, but the schedule is tough. Fortunately, the Tar Heels will face some of the toughest opponents, including the Tobacco Road rivalry against Duke, on home turf! UNC Senior Fatally Struck by Tree in Front of Chi Omega
UNC Senior Xuezhou “Julia” Nan of Cary died from injuries received when she was pinned under a large tree following a massive storm system that came through the Triangle area in late June. The tragic accident took place directly in front of the Chi-Omega house on East Franklin Street.

The Last Hurrah of College
Exams are over, the boxes are packed, and the cap and gown is pressed and ready for the big event. Graduation day is such a bittersweet moment in our lives, as we say goodbye to the youth and vitality of college life, and usher in a new era in our lives: full-blown adulthood. Think back to your own time and tell us a story about your graduation day. How did you spend your final days as an undergraduate member of Chi Omega? Were there any last hurrahs or memorable moments with sisters that especially stand out?

Make-A-Wish Foundation Dear Family, Friends, and Chi Omega Alumnae:
As you likely know, the Epsilon Beta Chi Omega Chapter supports The Make-A-Wish Foundation as its national philanthropy. Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit organization that works to grant wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions. Chi Omega chapters have, combined, raised approximately $2.3 million for the national Make-A-Wish Foundation which, thanks to various supporters, is a huge accomplishment. This spring, the Chi Omega Chapter at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will be hosting their annual Greek Dodgeball Tournament on Tuesday April 9, 2013, in support of this organization. This philanthropy event holds competitions between teams from both sororities and fraternities throughout UNC, with the teams coached by members of Chi Omega.

A Fantastic XO Reunion Rebecca Pace '89, XO House Corporation Board President All News
We had a fantastic XO reunion at the Carolina Inn on Friday, September 28. Alumnae first visited their old rooms at the XO house at 6 p.m. and were greeted by sisters and pledges (new members). The sisters were amused to hear nicknames bandied about between alumnae and to see how excited all the alumnae were to be back in Chapel Hill. We then went to the Carolina Inn and had a really fun evening with old friends and meeting new ones...
